Holiday Craft Faire Project

I put this piece together to teach at my church's Holiday Craft Faire. It's a hanging decoration.

Here was my class description.

"In this class you will be learning basic distressed painting techniques as you create a Christmas themed, three piece, hanging decoration. The fist piece is an oval that says Merry Christmas. You choose the second piece - either a Snow man or a Santa. The third piece is a snowflake. You will also be assembling all the pieces together using covered wire and embellishing with beads and bells. "

Rusty Bells

I found these rusty looking bells at Micheal's, and at 70% off I couldn't resist picking up a few.
I strung them up with some twine I had laying around the house, threw some beads on there, and finished it with a piece of ribbon I had saved from a box of Godiva chocolates.

Hidden Picture

On our last trip to Hawaii I had a mission - to compose my last name using pictures from our trip. I had to cheat on the "K" but other wise I think it came out great! I'm especially pleased with the "A" as it was taken by a random tour guide who had no knowledge of my mission. He just happened to take a perfect "A" picture for me. Thanks random tour guide!

Baby Scrapbook Word Book for Kananiokeanuenue

Shhhhhh! I'm gonna let you in on a secret...
My niece's Christmas gift!
Although she won't actually be here untill mid January so I supose I'm not in any real danger of you letting her in on what she's getting.

I made a mini word book for her family to archive all those special first baby moments for her and I hope she enjoys it for years to come.

Let's start the tour!

Kanani

Pages 1&2
Page 1 has Kanani's full Hawaiian name printed vertically and covered in clear embossing.
The little insert in the middle says family on one side and love on the other.
Page 2 has a pocket and a tag. The tag has room for journaling on the front and a small corner pocket on the back for a photo or keepsake
(There's a lot of subtle little embellishments here that my camera just doesn't pick up)

Pages 3 & 4
On this page a 4x4 photo will fit just right - sliding underneath the word baby and the corner tab on the right.
I ended up making a couple of those elephants since he came out so cute. Don't be surprised if you see more of those on future projects.

Pages 5 & 6
"You and Me"
Page 5 has a journaling tag that slips into a pocket behind the Mama bird.
Page 6 has space for a 4x4 photo that slips behind the flower on the left and underneath the chiffon ribbon and the word "me"

  Pages 7, 7.5, & 8
Page 7 has space for a 4x6 photo that slips underneath the circular tag that is hinged with a brad.
The poem reads "Little girls bring such delight with hearts so warm and smiles so bright." -Unknown Author

Page 7.5 is a butterfly that opens up for journaling or for attaching keepsakes
Page 8 opens up so that you have room for two 4x6 photos

Page 9
Remember that Mama bird? Well here is her nest, ready to embelish the corner of a 4x6 photo.
The photo mat is actually a pocket the holds a tag, ready for another photo on one side, and journaling on the other.

Page 10
Can hold 4 more photos - one on the front that slips underneath the blue swirl and three more on the tags from the double pocket.

 Back cover

Paper by K&Company - Gypsy Baby colection
Book designed on Pazzles Inspiration Studio Software
All lettering was done with the PI as well.
Lots of embossing powder, Pearl Ex, Glossy Accents, and Distress Ink were used too.

Pictures for my nieces nursery

My sister-in-law is expecting a baby. I'm gonna be an Aunt for the first time and I'm super excited about it! So here's a look at one the first (I'm sure of many) projects I've done for her. They chose a nursery collection called Jacana by CoCaLo Baby for her room. It has safari anamals. It has animal print. It has an orchid-esk pallet. What more could you ask for?

So I waited till after her ginormous baby show to figure out what I was going to make for the baby's room. Turns out she got just about everything except the wall art that goes with the set.

That's where these come in.

8x10 Frames came from Super K-Mart
All paper came from my favorite neighborhood scrapbooking store, Scrampers. Not sure about the brands - I just pulled from the loose paper.
I used my Pazzles Inspiration Studio to draw out the cutting files needed for the animals and then cut them out with my PI
I also used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye for all the edges.
